Poster: Comparison of ex-vivo human skin model of Th2 driven inflammation as a preclinical model of acute atopic dermatitis


Preclinical models for atopic dermatitis (AD) play a strategic role in drug development by mitigating performance issues, ultimately preparing the topical product for the best chance of success prior to expensive clinical trials.

The objectives of this study were as follows:

  • Assess time-dependent effects of Th2 stimulation on the gene expression of
    34 biomarkers associated with AD
  • Establish in vitro/in vivo correlation (IVIVC) using two key Th2 biomarkers
  • Assess the effect of commercially available compounds on the activity of
    biomarkers associated with AD
